Since C-VID, working from home for many has become the norm. You are rolling out of bed, simply stepping into your morning routine, only to take a few more steps and go to the other room to work in your home. A dream come true! No gas wasted, no traffic, no aggravation, peace and tranquility. This terrible virus that ran rampant across the globe forced us into one of my believed best solutions. It isn’t perfect for commercial real estate, but that’s another discussion. However, stay in one place long enough, and you’ll find distractions. You may want to explore a different scenery.
For this very reason, I sought out a place where I could work and focus. I need a place to focus on things other than barking dogs, loud-ass neighbors, etc. I visited a few locations before making Brass Tacks my new office space away from home. I have been here a few times prior but have yet to thoroughly indulge in the convenience of grabbing a cup of coffee, a bite, and meeting with people to conduct business away from home. The environment at Brass Tacks is perfect. Located smack dab in the middle of Houston, only a few blocks from the Dynamo Stadium at 612 Live Oak St., Brass Tacks has a beautiful outdoor area and a student center vibe inside.
The food selection is something I am still working through the menu, but I recently tried the patty melt, and it’s fire! It’s better than it should be. Also, the toasted PB&J is another delight you may try. Why does this coffee shop have a bomb-ass food selection? The coffee is exponentially excellent, and as a former barista, watching these modern-day marvels work as they brew the espresso captivates my amazement every time. I can tell they are putting love and care into each brew. It’s an art indeed. Brass Tacks is also known for housing some incredible plants from the House of Plants, available to purchase if you seek to take one home.
If you’re in the area from 7A-10P Sunday-Thursday and 7A-12A Friday and Saturday, feel free to check them out. You may find me among individuals looking to get some work done or hang out. If you do, tell them Elliot from Texas TREND told you to stop by and be greeted with happy smiles.
