Conservatory, the culinary collective that is known as being the first food hall in Houston, made waves downtown with its underground location. In December of 2019, the owners closed the location with plans to open three new food halls over the next few years. Conservatory Midtown opened to a positive response and this month the group opened Conservatory Galleria. The 12,000-square-foot space that used to be occupied by the night club has been dormant for several years but now is reimagined as a dining hall with 11 restaurant options and two bars placed throughout its three stories.
Food offerings include Bird Haus, Clutch City Grill, Luv’em Leches, Rollin’ Phatties, Thrive Juices, La Taquiza Street Tacos, Blk Mkt, Cvche Kitchen, The Pita-Rita, Seoulside Wings, and Wokker. The food hall, located at 5353 West Alabama, had its soft opening February 19th, and has continued to attract new visitors over the past week.
Conservatory is open until 1am giving Houstonians the option to select from a variety of dishes like Blk Mkt’s birria tacos or Cvche Kitchen’s Peruvian fare late into the night. Upon entering the building guest are greeted with a bar on the lower level as well as fresh juice from Thrive and sweet treats from Luv’ Em Leches. The third level houses a sleek cocktail lounge while the second floor contains most of the restaurants.
With the Midtown and Galleria locations already open and plans underway to open more locations in Richmond and Lake Charles, LA, expect to see more of the Conservatory shaping the restaurant scene.
