“I smartened up, opened the market up!” A line made popular by Rap mogul Jay-Z on his 9-11-01 album “The Blueprint”. When you see something else that works it’s good business to venture off and take your chance to create capital from it.
Earlier this year in July (of 2023) McDonald’s CEO and president Christopher Kempczinski announced during the company’s second-quarter earnings call that the new limited chain, titled “CosMc’s”. “A new small-format, beverage-led concept.” CosMc’s is basically what would be McCafe just with a new name and more items added to the menu.
The first location is in Bolingbrook, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. They are confident enough in the new chain that they are looking to expand to 10 or so locations in Texas cities like San Antonio and Dallas to start. So if you’re a fan of the Carmel McFrappe or a simple a black coffee, you’ll be able to do so without having to wait behind the person ordering twenty 20 piece nuggets & taking forever to decide what they want to eat. However expect much of what you experience with a Starbucks line. Still a long line but should move a bit more expeditiously.
The name “CosMc’s” is a rehash of one of McDonald’s Late 80’s to early 90’s characters named “CosMc”. A six-armed orange extraterrestrial who visits Earth in search of McDonald’s cheeseburgers.
CosMc’s located at 285 N Weber Rd, Bolingbrook, IL 60490 (Where the old Boston Market Used to be) is open every-day from 6 AM–8 PM. You can expect to spend $10–$20 at CosMc’s.
